Project

The ​Waterways project is conceptualized and created on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Syilx Okanagan Nation. Syilx peoples have been stewards and caretakers of this territory since time immemorial. As a meaningful, reciprocal and mutually beneficial cross-cultural collaborative project we recognize and support this vital role, taking responsibility for playing an active role in helping the Indigenization of our society. As a team, we have placed significant effort in learning to align with the critical task of Indigenizing our actions and evaluating our efforts from the decolonial lens. We are grateful for the profound Syilx wisdom, philosophy and ways of being that has deepened our understanding of the importance of living with the laws of nature in harmony and in an interconnected reciprocal way.
